The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the largest ever, co‑hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico. It is the first time three nations will share hosting duties.

The opening match is set for June 11 in Mexico City, while the final will be played on July 19 in New Jersey, USA. With 48 teams competing, the tournament will feature 104 matches over 39 days, making it longer and bigger than any previous World Cup.

Games will be spread across sixteen cities. Eleven are in the United States, including Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Seattle. Mexico will host matches in Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey. Canada will stage games in Toronto and Vancouver. The United States will host most of the action, including the final.

In October, more than 4.5 million fans entered a draw for the chance to buy tickets. FIFA has divided general admission into four categories, with prices for the first match in the United States ranging from 560 to 2,235 dollars. Tickets for the final are even higher, starting at 2,030 dollars and reaching up to 6,000 for the most expensive seats.

So far, forty‑one countries have qualified. Football giants such as Brazil, Argentina, France and Germany are confirmed. While countries like Curaçao, Cape Verde, Jordan and Uzbekistan have qualified for the World Cup for the very first time, making history for their nations.

To date, Belize has never qualified for the FIFA World Cup.

Play‑offs in March 2026 will decide the remaining places.
