27 Fire Officers Honoured for Long Service; Two Mark 30 Years
Twenty-seven officers of the National Fire Service (NFS) were recognised for their years of service at a Long Service Awards Ceremony held in Belize City.
Among those honoured were Assistant Divisional Officer Kenneth Mortis and Station Officer Brenton Gentle, who each completed 30 years of service. Retired Station Officer Miguel Medina completed 20 years.
Minister of the Public Service Henry Charles Usher delivered remarks at the ceremony. He said it was important to recognise officers who have spent years serving and protecting the people of Belize. “Today, we honour not only the years these officers have given, but also the important contribution they have made to our nation,” Usher said.
The ministry said experienced personnel strengthen the NFS and help it keep its capacity to respond to emergencies across the country. It congratulated all 27 awardees and thanked them for their service.
