279 Cadets Graduate From 27th Annual Police Youth Camp 

Over two hundred young Belizeans have completed the Belize Police Department’s 27th Annual National Police Youth Cadet Corps Camp, which wrapped up on Saturday, August 1, after a week of leadership training and competitions in Dangriga.

Assistant Superintendent Stacy Smith said during this afternoon’s police briefing that the camp brought together 279 cadets and 80 police and civilian instructors from across the country under the theme, “Command with Honour, Inspire Action, Teaching Young Minds for a Successful Tomorrow.”

Cadets also took part in promotional examinations and competitions throughout the week. The Northern Region won the football and foot drill competitions, while the Eastern Region took the basketball and volleyball titles.

According to Smith, 69 cadets earned promotions during the camp. The camp closed with an award ceremony and a parade through Dangriga.
