3 American Women Busted with Marijuana at PGIA

Three American women who landed in Belize earlier this week are breathing a sigh of relief tonight, after narrowly avoiding another night behind bars. The trio arrived on a JetBlue flight on Wednesday afternoon, but their vacation took a sharp turn at the Philip Goldson International Airport. During a routine luggage check, authorities discovered suspected cannabis in their bags, seventeen grams, twelve grams, and three grams, respectively. Arisa Philson, Iyahna Rayside, and Alliah Kemp were arrested on the spot and spent the night at the Ladyville Police Station. This morning, they appeared in court, where they all pleaded guilty to importing a controlled drug. Luckily for them, the court handed down a non-custodial sentence, a three hundred fine each, plus a five dollars court fee. Had they failed to pay, they would’ve faced three months in prison. But with fines paid, the women were free to go.
