36 Police Officers Complete Drill Training with BDF Support
Thirty-six police officers have graduated from a five-week drill training programme described as a “first of its kind”, carried out in partnership with the Belize Defence Force (BDF).
The ‘Junior Non-Commissioned Officer’ drill course began in mid-March when 40 officers entered the National Police Training Academy. By graduation day, 36 had made it through, completing what officials described as both an “intensive and transformative” programme.
The programme was designed to sharpen officers’ skills in parade drills, fault checking, and precision movements, while also helping to build confidence and leadership on the ground.
Officials say the training combined hands-on exercises with classroom instruction, giving officers both the physical discipline and the knowledge needed to perform at a higher standard.
They described the programme as both “intensive and transformative”, noting that the collaboration with the BDF played a key role in strengthening the overall training experience.
