53 Y/O Man Charged for Mark Longsworth Murder

A 53-year-old Belize City man has been formally charged with murder. Ralph Sherlock Martinez Sr, listed as unemployed, is accused of fatally stabbing 56-year-old caretaker Mark Longsworth.

Martinez Sr was arrested and charged on Tuesday, one day after the attack that claimed Longsworth’s life in the early hours of Monday morning.

Longsworth was found injured at the corner of Mopan and Ebony Streets around 12:30 a.m. on May 11th. Officers on patrol discovered him and transported him to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Longsworth is survived by his estranged wife of more than twenty years.
