772 kg of Cocaine Seized in Virgin Islands
A major joint anti-narcotics operation in Virgin Islands (VI) waters last week led to the seizure of more than 772 kilograms of cocaine and the arrest of six individuals, with the Caribbean Community Implementation Agency for Crime and Security (CARICOM IMPACS) playing a central role.
The operation, conducted between 8 and 9 December 2025, involved multiple agencies, including U.S. Customs and Border Protection (USCBP).
CARICOM IMPACS facilitated critical intelligence sharing that enabled authorities to intercept the vessel, recover the drugs, and apprehend the suspects.
Lt. Col. Michael Jones, Executive Director of CARICOM IMPACS, emphasized the importance of regional collaboration: “This operation is a profound testament to the power of regional and international cooperation in securing our shared maritime space. The continuous flow of real-time intelligence and the seamless coordination among all partners demonstrate an unwavering commitment to dismantling the criminal networks that threaten the Caribbean.”
The six individuals arrested face charges including Importation of a Controlled Drug and four counts of Possession of a Controlled Drug with Intent to Supply. They remain in custody pending their appearance at the Magistrate’s Court.
