Is a Government Job About to Get Easier to Land?

The Ministry of Public Service launched an upgraded online job portal earlier this month designed to better connect Belizeans with employment opportunities across the public service.

The new portal comes with expanded storage and a feature Usher singled out as his favourite: automatic resume matching. “If there is a vacancy for a particular skill, it can actually look and see if persons have submitted a resume with that particular skill and try to match them so that we could maybe contact the person without that person having to say, I’m interested in the job,” said Minister of Public Service Henry Charles Usher.

He added that the portal forms part of a broader effort funded through an IDB loan to modernise the public service and digitise several administrative functions, including attendance management and recruitment.
