ASP Stacy Smith, Staff Officer

“Police have detained a twenty-three-year-old male of San Jose, Succotz, in connection with a chopping incident which resulted in the grievous harm of a sixty-two-year-old female relative of that male person. The investigation commenced on Saturday, first August at around seven thirty p.m. when police were alerted of the incident at a residence in the village. The elderly female was rushed for medical attention, where she is now listed in a stable condition. Efforts by police and community members led to the apprehension of the male person who is in custody. What we have learned so far is that the male person may have been undergoing a mental health crisis, and when the female relative sought to aid him, she was injured.”

Reports are that the woman received injuries to her hands and face.
