Belize, El Salvador Sign Trade Agreement Opening New Export Markets
Belize and El Salvador signed a Partial Scope Agreement in San Salvador, opening new export markets for Belizean products and formalising efforts to deepen trade between the two countries.
The signing included a Belize trade mission made up of private sector representatives, including the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry, alongside government officials and other trade stakeholders.
Minister of State for Foreign Trade Marconi Leal Jr led Belize’s delegation, framing the agreement as part of a broader push to diversify the country’s trade partnerships and strengthen ties with El Salvador.
The agreement establishes a Bilateral Trade and Investment Promotion Group to encourage cross-border investment, along with provisions for technical cooperation and capacity building between the two countries.
