Senator Dennison Demands Action on Whistleblower Bill
Union Senator Glenfield Dennison says the Briceño administration must stop delaying the Protective Disclosure Bill and move it through the National Assembly. Dennison says the legislation is a key part of the unions’ wider demand for good governance and accountability in Belize. But he argues the bill has been left sitting for too long, and he fears the delay may be intentional.

“There is a piece of legislation that is meant to protect people who are doing exactly what we need in Belize, blowing the whistle on corruption. Whistleblowers legislation is languishing in the House of Representative, nuh the Osh. That is what we need to spot a light on, why is that piece of legislation languishing. That dead, so we are here to resurrect it, the Protected Disclosure Bill, because you see how they are victimizing or want to victimize the people who are leaking the screenshots on the Mira Millions, that is what that is there to protect. So let us get that out in the next ninety days. I am ready to debate that in the Senate. Senator Channona, are you ready to debate that in the Senate? I am ready.”
