Planned Island Trip Ends in Mystery; Where is Monica Neal?
More than three days have passed since Monica Evelyn Neal vanished after reportedly setting out for a day trip to Goff Caye, and her family is growing increasingly worried. Neal last contacted her daughter, Leah James, shortly after eight on Saturday morning, saying she was travelling from Belmopan to Belize City. Since then, her phone has remained off and repeated attempts to reach her have failed. Her relatives have launched a search and are appealing to anyone who may have seen Neal or knows where she is to contact the family or police immediately.

“From what I’ve gathered so far, no one has spoken to her after I spoke with her around eight nineteen a.m. I don’t have any information if anyone has seen her in person when she maybe arrived to Belize City. We have received some information; however, we haven’t been able to confirm as yet that she may be on the sea or at one of the Cayes. So we’re urging if anyone is on the sea at the moment or is out at any of the Cayes if they have seen her to either contact my phone number or let her know that I’m trying to find out about her whereabouts. And I’m really just concerned about her because this isn’t like her. It’s already over forty-eight hours, and I have never gone over forty-eight hours without speaking to my mom.”

“Well, she told me she was only going for the day. However, after speaking with some other family members, she said she might be going for a few days out to the sea. She last told me Goff Key, but we’ve already checked Goff Caye. We’ve already checked Caye Chappel land different smaller Cayes in the area, and she wasn’t at those key specific, so we don’t know maybe if she’s on a fishing trip or something of that manner. Maybe she’s just on the open sea doing fishing where she went out to the Caye Caulker or San Pedro specifically.”
