Louisiana School Audit Finished, But No Action Yet

The audit is complete, but parents are still waiting for answers. More than three months after allegations surfaced that thousands of dollars were missing from Louisiana Government School’s accounts, the ministry has not announced whether anyone will face disciplinary action. Education Minister Francis Fonseca says the Chief Education Officer is reviewing the findings and will determine the next step. Following Principal Debbie Palacio’s resignation, we asked Fonseca for an update.

“I think I pointed out already that audit has been completed. It’s now with the chief education officer and she will make a determination as to what action, if any, need to be taken, but the audit has been completed.”

 

Parents have paid fees and raised funds for years, but Louisiana Government School continues to deteriorate.
