Did You See the Paratroopers? Two Nations Mark Belize @45

Four Belize Defence Force paratroopers jumped from roughly 6,000 feet over Belmopan today as part of the country’s 45th Independence anniversary celebrations.

The jumpers exited a BDF Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, flown by command pilot Major Elder Correa with Major Pierce Colemane as copilot. They freefell approximately 2,000 feet before deploying their parachutes and navigating to the designated landing zone.

The display follows a similar jump on Sunday by Guyana Defence Force paratroopers, who landed in the field in front of the Curl Thompson Building in Belmopan.

Both jumps form part of the planned activities celebrating Belize’s 45 years of independence, bringing military precision and spectacle to a weekend already packed with celebrations across the country.

In today’s paratroopers landing, both the Belize and Guyana flags were displayed to reflect the countries’ partnership and cooperation and celebrate Belize’s independence anniversary.
