Guinea Grass Dispute Escalates into Armed Confrontation

A neighborhood dispute in Guinea Grass ended with gunfire over the weekend, prompting a police investigation and the detention of a village resident. Police say a man reported that his neighbor arrived at his home on Sunday and fired two shotgun blasts in the direction of the property. ASP Stacy Smith says no one was injured in the incident, and the suspect remains in police custody as the investigation continues.

“On Sunday 20th September 2026, police in Guinea Grass responded to reports of shots being fired within that village, and police visited a residence wherein the occupant stated that whilst at his home, a male person, being his neighbor approached his residence and fired two shots, by way of a shotgun. However, no one was injured. That male person, being the neighbor, is currently in detention, and the media will be advised as to what actions have been taken accordingly.”

 

Police did not confirm of the gun was licensed.
