New Agreements Strengthen Belize-Taiwan Partnership
Belize and Taiwan have strengthened their longstanding partnership with new commitments to diplomacy, education and development. Taiwan’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Lin Chia-Lung, arrived on Monday and quickly began a series of high-level meetings with Governor General Dame Froyla Tzalam, Prime Minister John Briceño and Cabinet. His visit produced a joint communiqué and two cooperation agreements, including training for Belize’s foreign service officers and a new initiative connecting the University of Belize with Taiwan’s international development fund.

The visit follows Prime Minister John Briceño’s call at the United Nations for Taiwan’s inclusion, citing its advances in artificial intelligence and other technologies.
