Police Piece Together Jose Miranda’s Final Moments

How did a pickup truck collide with a parked trailer truck, leaving its driver dead? That is the question police are working to answer following Thursday’s fatal crash in Orange Walk. The driver, identified as Jose Miranda, was rushed for medical treatment but later succumbed to his injuries. Investigators are now examining the circumstances surrounding the collision. “On Thursday, police responded to a road traffic accident in Orange Walk. Upon arrival, they saw that a vehicle had crashed into the back of a trailer truck. Information is that the driver of the truck, Leo Pineda, had parked the truck, which had cement on the bed. Thereafter, he was in the truck when he heard a loud bang. He came outside and saw that a pickup had slammed into the back of the truck. The driver of that pickup was identified as Jose Miranda. He was taken for treatment, he where he succumbed to his injuries. An investigation is being carried out into this report.”

 

Romero said tests to determine whether alcohol was a factor will be conducted following the post-mortem examination.
