ASP Stacy Smith, Staff Officer

“Police have recovered a vehicle and have detained two persons of interest in relation to an aggravated burglary which occurred at three-thirty a.m. on Wednesday, 14th October 2026. A resident of Burrell Boom Village visited the substation and reported that while he was sleeping at his residence, he was awakened by some noise. Upon getting up to enquire, we were accosted by a male person who assaulted him, and he was restrained. He observed that there were three additional male persons inside his premises who ransacked his residence before making off with an undisclosed amount of money, jewellery, and a cellphone, as well as a Toyota SUV. This information was communicated, and just before midday on Thursday, officers on patrol in Santa Familia observed the vehicle, and a pursuit was initiated. The male persons stopped and abandoned the vehicle; that vehicle has since been processed with the hope of lifting prints to identify who those occupants were.”
