Young Teacher Dies During Succotz Football Match

Rudy Leonel Itza Jr., a young teacher, died on November 1, following a medical emergency during a football match at the San Jose Succotz football field.

According to information received by News 5, Itza reportedly suffered a stroke during the first match of the event. An anonymous tipster claimed that a fan performed CPR in an attempt to revive him before he was transported to the San Ignacio hospital in a private vehicle.

The tipster further alleged that the vehicle broke down along the way, forcing those transporting Itza to continue in a taxi. He was reportedly pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

Another anonymous tip also raised concerns about the emergency arrangements at the football field, claiming that no proper provisions were in place to respond to medical emergencies.

The source alleged that players have previously sustained injuries, including fractures and sprains, and had to seek medical assistance on their own.

Itza was laid to rest today, November 4.
