Police Probe Unlicensed Shotgun in Fatal Shooting

On Friday, we brought you the story of Darnell Arnold, who was shot and killed in Santa Elena Town. The shooter? An off-duty police officer. Now, reports suggest Arnold may have gone to the officer’s home with the intent to harm him, allegedly following threats made against the cop. And here’s the unexpected detail: was Arnold killed with an unlicensed shotgun? That’s the question put to Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero earlier today.

“Now, we know the circumstances, I understand, but was the shotgun that is believed to have been, or believed to have fired the fatal shot, a sawed-off shotgun, was it licensed? I know those are prohibited firearms.”
