Caretaker Charged for Murder of Estell Trapp

A man has been arrested and charged following the brutal murder of an elderly woman in Millers Bight. Last week, the quiet community in Orange Walk was left shaken, after sixty-eight-year-old Estell Trapp was found bludgeoned to death inside her home. The perpetrator? Her own caretaker, Eugene Ramirez, who shockingly reported the incident to the police himself. ACP Hilberto Romero, Head of the National Crimes Investigation Branch, has more details on his arrest.

“In reference to the murder of Esthel Trapp, we have since arrested and charged Eugene Ramirez for the crime of murder. A thorough investigation was conducted. Evidence were retrieved from the scene, and that is what led to this charge.”

Reporter

“Do you all know what was the nature of the relationship? I know he was a caretaker, and she lived on the farm, but was there an element of intercourse or any relations between the two?”

Hilberto Romero

“We cannot confirm it. They had a confrontation, an argument at the house and that is what led to this person causing injuries to struggle.”

Reporter

“Are you able to say what was the nature of the confrontation?”

Hilberto Romero

“We do not know. He mentioned that they had an argument, and he hit her with an object, and that is what caused her death.”

Britney Gordon

“And he turned himself in?”

Hilberto Romero

“He was there present when the police arrived, yes.”

Reporter

“Had she been receiving threats from him?”

Hilberto Romero

“Not that we know of. They both stayed at that isolated location by themselves.”

Reporter

“You know, he called the police. How did he characterize their relationship when he spoke to police? Because he’s merely a worker on the farm.”

Hilberto Romero

“Yeah, the call was brief. He only mentioned that there was an argument, and he had caused injuries to the female, and she was motionless.”

Britney Gordon

“So who reported the incident to the police?”

Hilberto Romero

“He called initially, and thereafter a neighbor called.”
