Residents Alarmed by Alleged Child Abuse in Corozal
Residents of a Corozal neighbourhood expressed outrage last night over an alleged case of child abuse.
An anonymous source sent a video showing a close-up of a house window, with cries of the children audible inside. According to the sender, a woman—possibly the girls’ mother or aunt—was reportedly beating the children and threatening them, saying that if they continued to cry, she would tape their mouths and have a man ‘deal with them’.
Neighbours immediately contacted the Corozal Police but reportedly experienced significant delays in response. When officers eventually arrived, the source claims they observed the situation from a distance and stated they are from San Antonio Village and that they were unable to take action because it is out of their jurisdiction.
Residents voiced disappointment and concern over the police response, calling for a more immediate and decisive intervention in cases of child abuse.
