Father Charged With Raping Daughter

Police are investigating a reported sexual assault of a child in the Belize District.

Authorities say a mother came forward on Monday morning, alleging that her daughter had been sexually assaulted by her father.

A medical examination confirmed that the child had been carnally known.

The accused, a 43-year-old Belizean and resident of the Belize District, has been formally arrested and charged for the crime of Rape and Sexual Assault.
