Gunman on Bike Opens Fire on Young Street

Two men are nursing injuries tonight after gunfire erupted on Young Street in Belize City. It happened around seven p.m. Tuesday, when a group of men were hanging out and a gunman on a bicycle rode past, opening fire. When police arrived, they found thirty-five-year-old Michael Wells with what looked like a bullet graze and a grey Mazda riddled with bullet holes. A short while later, officers learned that twenty-seven-year-old Brandon Smith had also been shot and was rushed to the KHMH. Both men are expected to recover, but the shooter is still on the loose. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
