More Details of Belize City Murder

Police continue to investigate the broad daylight murder of 20-year-old Rasheed Jamaal Williams, better known as Rasheed Parham, who was shot and killed on Wednesday afternoon in Belize City.

The incident unfolded around 4:20 p.m. on Rosalind Bradley Street, in the St. Martin’s area, when officers were called out to the scene following reports of multiple gunshots.

When they arrived, they found Williams lying on the street, bleeding from several gunshot wounds.

Investigators say that just minutes earlier, at about 4:15 p.m., Williams was walking along the street when two men suddenly emerged from an abandoned lot and opened fire on him. He collapsed on the pavement as the gunmen fled the area. Residents reported hearing a rapid burst of shots.

Williams died at the scene. Scenes of Crime personnel collected several expended shells.

Police have not yet released a motive, but sources suggest that the murder may be gang-related, given the history of violence in the area. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and canvassing witnesses in hopes of identifying the shooters.
