21-Year-Old Gunned Down in Ambush on Rosalind Bradley Street

Tonight, a Belize City family is mourning the loss of twenty-one-year-old Rasheed Parham, gunned down in what appears to be a calculated ambush. It happened on Rosalind Bradley Street in the Lake Independence area, a neighborhood long plagued by gang tensions. Was this a case of crossing into rival territory, or something else? What we do know is that Parham was visiting his girlfriend and was heading home when two gunmen struck. News Five’s Paul Lopez has the details.

Rasheed Parham Gunned Down In Belize City

                          Rasheed Parham

Twenty-one-year-old Rasheed Parham is dead, after he was ambushed by a pair of gunmen on Wednesday afternoon on Rosalind Bradley Street. Reports are that Parham was walking from the direction of his girlfriend’s home at the end of the street when two gunmen exited an abandoned lot nearby. The men fired multiple shots in his direction. Parham attempted to flee his attackers and seek refuge in a property on the same street, but he collapsed at a front gate with fatal gunshot injuries. News Five understands that Parham was making his way to his home, which is located several blocks away from Rosalind Bradley Street, when he was gunned down. Police are yet to release a motive for the shooting, but persons close to the victim told News Five that the area where Parham’s attackers shot him is a rival neighborhood. His relatives were at the scene of the crime. They were in a great deal of shock and distress over the loss of their loved one. We revisited the area today and the family declined to comment.

But Parham is no stranger to the law, back in 2020, Rasheed and his brother were arrested and charged with producing a video recording to promote gang-related activities. They were minors at the time and taken before the Family Court where they pled not guilty and remanded to the Wagner’s Youth Facility. The content was posted on social media and displayed the young them issuing threats to their rivals.
