Two Police Officers Injured in Midnight George Price Highway Crash
A late-night traffic accident on the George Price Highway has left two police officers injured. Around midnight Sunday, a motorcycle carrying Officers Kurlyn Hamilton and Karen August was traveling between miles sixty-eight and sixty-nine, when an oncoming vehicle swerved into their lane. Hamilton tried to avoid the collision by steering to the extreme right side of the highway, but the vehicle struck the motorcycle’s front protection bar. The impact caused Hamilton to lose control and both officers to be thrown into a nearby ditch, leaving them with multiple injuries. They were rushed to the San Ignacio Community Hospital for treatment.
