Opposition Plans UDP ‘Reset’ Ahead of November Convention

On Monday, the Opposition took aim at the government’s performance. The UDP criticized the administration over repeated scandals, failures in healthcare, and what they call broken promises. Godwin Haylock says their own reset is already underway, with caretaker conventions open and running up to the national convention at the end of November. A move they believe will unify the UDP and prepare them to challenge the government.

“Many times people have complained; they want a new opposition. They want to see the rebuilding of the UDP. They want us to create this forceful and impactful team that will fight the UDP because, while Jules Vasquez can bring the media with scandals after scandals. It’s only the opposition that can mobilize this country and effect true change in the government business. For those who don’t know, or not abreast, the UDP has started its caretaker conventions since August twenty-fourth, last month. We must say, eighteen seats within the UDP are up for caretaker conventions. These conventions continues every Sunday, or every other Sunday, until October twelfth. It’s really part of the greater plan of a grand reset. That culminates November thirtieth, with a national convention to bring unity to this party. It couldn’t come at a time more important than when we see the lackadaisical performance of the government.”
