Second Suspect Nabbed in $20K Downtown Robbery
There’s a major update to a bold daylight robbery that shocked downtown Belize City just weeks ago. Police have made another arrest in connection with the armed heist of a Dooney’s messenger who was ambushed at gunpoint in the heart of the city. The robbery happened on August eleventh, at the busy intersection of Regent and Bishop Streets and the thieves made off with a staggering twenty thousand, five hundred dollars in cash. Today, twenty-year-old Delroy Reynolds, a resident of Berkel Street and an employee of R & C Construction, was hauled before the court. He’s been charged with robbery and is now the second person arrested in connection with the crime. Reynolds appeared unrepresented before a magistrate and pleaded not guilty. But given the seriousness of the offense, bail was denied, and he’s been remanded to the Belize Central Prison until November sixth. Reynolds now joins Denton Flowers, a forty-five-year-old mechanic from Consuelo Street, who was charged earlier for abetment to robbery. According to police, Flowers allegedly helped the suspects escape after the robbery.
