San Ignacio Businessman Charged After Police Officers Injured in Crash
A San Ignacio businessman has been arrested in connection with a serious traffic accident that left two police officers injured on Sunday, September 7.
Dijon McNab, 31, faces multiple charges, including Negligent Grievous Harm, Negligent Wounding, Driving Without Due Care and Attention, Failing to Keep as Close as Possible on the Right-Hand Side of the Road, Failing to Stop and Render Aid, and Failing to Report an Accident.
The crash occurred on the George Price Highway between miles 68 and 69. Police Constable Karen August was thrown into a ditch with injuries to her forehead and hands and a deep cut to her left leg.
Constable Kurlyn Hamilton suffered cuts to his head and arm and abrasions to his elbows and face.
August had finished her shift at the Kontiki Substation and was heading home to Succotz Village.
