Rain Won’t Halt 29th Expo Belize Marketplace

The Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has assured the public that rain will not affect the 29th Expo Belize Marketplace, scheduled for this weekend at the Marion Jones Stadium in Belize City.

In a statement, the BCCI team said it has been working with the National Sports Council to improve drainage and field conditions since early July. The investment has helped prevent widespread flooding despite heavy rain in the last 24 hours.

It said additional measures are being taken to make the grounds accessible for all attendees, including patrons and sellers.

The National Meteorological Services of Belize said in its last report that isolated thunderstorms are expected over in the south and coast of Belize and are expected to decrease by midday on Saturday.

The BCCI continues to encourage Belizeans to attend the expo, stating that the team has adjusted the start time to 10:00 am “to accommodate our micro businesses and provide an additional preparatory time to serve you better.”
