Belize City Man Survives Late-Night Shooting
A Belize City man is recovering tonight after a late-night shooting sent him to the hospital. Police say the incident happened just after 10:15 p.m. on Thursday night. Twenty-eight-year-old Esau Louima was standing on the veranda of his home when an unknown man entered his yard and opened fire, sending several bullets in his direction. Louima was hit and rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where police arrived shortly after 10:32 p.m. to begin their investigation. Thankfully, doctors say he’s in stable condition. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and investigators are working to identify the shooter.
