Belize Welcomes Seven New Ambassadors Incuding from Palestine
Seven new ambassadors have officially taken up their posts in Belize after presenting their credentials to Governor General Dame Froyla Tzalam.
The group included Jamie E. Pache Soto of Uruguay, Messaoud Mehila of Algeria, Kwak Taeyol of Korea, Jolanta Janek of Poland, María Gabriela Quinteros of Argentina, Maria Velasco of Sweden, and Nadya R.H. Rasheed of Palestine.
On Friday, September 12, Belize voted in favour of the United Nations declaration that sets out concrete, time-bound, and irreversible steps toward establishing an independent State of Palestine. The resolution calls for a two-state solution that would see a sovereign, democratic, and economically viable Palestine living in peace and security alongside Israel.
The ambassadors spoke of closer cooperation with Belize and a shared commitment to strengthen diplomatic, cultural, and economic ties.
