APAMO’s 18th Anniversary Run Highlights Need for Environmental Commitment

The Association of Protected Areas Management Organizations, better known as APAMO, is celebrating a milestone. This year marks its eighteenth anniversary as the umbrella group for environmental NGOs across Belize. To mark the occasion, APAMO is inviting the public to take part in its annual Conserv-a-thon. A thirteen-and-a-half mile run on October fifth in Dangriga. The route takes participants through scenic surroundings on the way to the Mayflower Bocawina National Park. Organizers say it’s more than just a race. It’s an opportunity to raise awareness about Belize’s natural heritage while also promoting health, wellness, and community involvement. Just as a race requires endurance, the Conserv-a-thon reflects the commitment it takes to protect our ecosystems. Registration is ten dollars, not as a fundraiser, but to ensure participants are committed. And whether you choose to walk or run, you now have until September twenty-third to sign up.
