Can Commissioner Rosado Influence the Budna Investigation?

The public is still calling for an independent investigation into the kidnapping of Joseph Budna, but so far, those calls are going unanswered. And now, some are questioning whether Commissioner of Police Dr. Richard Rosado, who’s currently on forty-five-day leave, could have any influence on the outcome. For now, Assistant Commissioner Suzette Anderson has been tapped to lead the probe. Acting Commissioner Bart Jones insists she’s more than capable of handling the case, but we’re still asking: will she be the sole head of this investigation?

“Do you expect that it will include the aspect of the footage being deleted?”

“I have no idea about that, when I see the report I will let you know.”

“While she  might have an impeccable record, the concern is that because Mr. Rosado remains the commissioner of police, he can instruct, he can intervene, and he can interfere. What’s your thoughts on.”

“I don’t think so because since he has been aware, he has not as far as my knowledge, has not interfered with any, not even, not that investigation or any policing activity he has not interfered with since he has been on leave.”

Reporter

“Sir, have you, now that a case is being brought against, it’s not the police department, actual officers specifically in the case of that officer. Who would have come out of the police station? Are you looking at him failing in his duty in responding to help a citizen in distress?”

Bart Jones

“As I said, again, the investigation is going to cover all those things whether or not police officers, Rene, in their duties, that will be looked at as well. And so we need to just wait until the end of the investigation to see what happens. “
