Santa Elena Man to Finish House with Scratch & Win Earnings

Tonight, a Santa Elena resident is celebrating big time after coming up on top with a one-hundred-thousand-dollar Scratch and Win ticket. After a quick stop at the Sansco Store in Santa Elena led to him purchasing the winning ticket, the resident now has the funds to finish building his home. Today, he stopped by our office to tell us all about his win and why he keeps coming back to the game.

“Sansco Grocery store in Santa Elena. And my wife wanted to stop and I wanted her to buy me two five dollars tickets. She said, you buy your own tickets. So I went in and asked for two five dollars tickets, but she said, all I have is ten dollars tickets. I said gimme one of them. And lo and behold, the good Lord said Thank you very much.”

“Talk a bit about the process in scratching for you. Was it different this time around?”

“Yeah, I scratch ’em. I always scratch the numbers off first and not the amount, and I scratch the two fifties and I said, oh, I hope it’s at least two dollars. So I win two hundred dollars and I let my wife scratch it and she said, it’s a thousand dollars. I said, you’re kidding me? Both of them were a thousand, so I won the top prize.”

“How was that moment for you, how did you feel?”

“Didn’t even get excited because, you just don’t know if you’re gonna get the money. It just until you got the check, you’re like, oh, now I’m excited. But now I can finish the house.”

“Is scratch and win a daily yes thing for you?”

“Probably probably at least forty dollars a week. I’ve won a thousand and I won five hundred before. But I’m down until I won this”

“What do you say to those out there that have been trying and nothing yet?”

“Yeah. My friend that owns Chinatown and store in Santa Elena, he said, he always told me, you’re gonna win the big one. So I stopped and showed him this ticket and he was very happy for me.”

“Oh yeah, definitely. You don’t win unless you try. And I realize ten dollars to some people is a lot of money, but if you never know, it only takes one time and then you’re doing good.”
