Gunman Opens Fire Through Bedroom Window; Couple Miraculously Survives

Punta Gorda residents were shaken early this morning after a couple was shot while sleeping in their home. Joel Carr and Kayla Gonzalez were attacked as a gunman rode up to their residence and fired multiple shots through their bedroom window. Both were struck by bullets and fortunately they survived and are now in stable condition at the hospital. The attack has left the community on edge. We asked Acting Commissioner of Police, Bart Jones for details.

“Well, we were waiting for once they’ve got through with their medical treatment, to interview to see if they had any persons who would have wanted to harm them, any of them. And so then that will be, after that interview, we’ll be able to see what, if anything, or the reason for it.”
