Valley of Peace Residents Struggle Amid Long-Standing Water Crisis
We now turn to Valley of Peace Village, where residents say they’ve had enough of a long-standing water crisis. For years, families here have been dealing with little to no water for most of the day, a situation that only worsens during the dry season. Mornings often start without water to cook, clean, or prepare children for school. Evenings aren’t much better, when after a long day’s work, villagers return home to dry taps. The problem, they say, stems from an outdated water system and a single tank that can no longer meet the needs of a growing community. Frustrated residents accuse the Water Board of ignoring their complaints and failing to provide any real solutions. Tonight, they’re calling for immediate action to finally get relief, urging officials to address the water shortages that have made daily life a constant struggle.

“Yeah, it’s very hard for us because kids are going to school, we need to wash uniforms and stuff like that. And we really, really are living hard by the area where I’m staying. By months we don’t have water, sometimes three weeks, sometimes more than a month we don’t have water. It’s all the time like that. So we want to know the issue, what its, like, what we want, or people want, because water is very important in our village. We don’t have water, we have to go get it from the river, make we wash some clothes for the kids, to make them go to school. Sometimes my kids doesn’t go to school because of the water issues. It’s very hard, very hard.”
