On Thursday evening, a motorcycle chase ended in tragedy for the family of twenty-seven-year-old Leonardo Vasquez after he was shot dead by his pursuer. The Carmelita resident had taken refuge in a neighbor’s home but was ultimately killed when he was shot through the wooden door. Tonight, police say they have uncovered some details surrounding the potential motive for Vasquez’s death. ACP Hilberto Romero. Head of the National Crime Investigation Branch, tells us more.

“On Thursday, police responded to a shooting in Carmelita. Upon their arrival, they saw Leonardo Vasquez with gunshot injuries. He was taken for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries. Investigation revealed that he was on a motorcycle, along with another male person, when two other persons on a motorcycle followed him. He went to a house in the area and a shot was fired at him through a door which caused an injury to his fist. We are seeking two suspects in regards to this murder investigation. Information is that prior to the shot being fired, the person was demanding money from him.”
