Barrow Calls P.U.P. “Petty” For Revoking Diplomatic Passport
After six long months, Moses ‘Shyne’ Barrow is finally cleared to travel to his so-called second home, the United States. You’ll remember, after losing his Mesopotamia seat in the March general election, Barrow had to surrender his diplomatic passport and with it, his U.S. visa. That meant no trips abroad until he could secure a new one. Well, that day has come. Barrow confirmed today that he was back in the U.S. on an O-1A visa, that’s the special category for individuals with extraordinary ability in the arts and sciences. And if you know Shyne’s history, that fits, he’s a Grammy-nominated artist turned politician. He says this new visa opens the door for big plans, including a special announcement tied to the twenty-fifth anniversary of his debut album. So, from politics to the global stage, it looks like Shyne is ready for his next act.
Moses ”Shyne” Barrow, Party Leader, United Democratic Party
“I never lost my visa. I had my diplomatic visa. It was never revoked, but obviously the petty P.U.P. had me return my diplomatic passport, which they have not done for anyone else. I’m the only one allegedly that they did that. Two. Nonetheless getting my work visa was always a part of what I had envisioned as far as moving forward and ensuring that I was in the United States properly to work. And obviously as an entertainer I qualify for extraordinary ability visa as an entertainer who has won and been nominated for Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, et cetera, et cetera. I certainly qualify for that category of Visa.”
