Moist and Unstable Weather Brings Heavy Rains Across Belize

Cloudy and rainy conditions are expected to continue across Belize today as moist and unstable weather lingers over the region. The National Meteorological Service reports that skies will remain cloudy to overcast throughout Tuesday and into tonight, with showers, thunderstorms, and periods of rain affecting most parts of the country, particularly central and northern areas.

Mariners are advised to exercise caution as winds from the east-southeast at 10 to 15 knots will produce moderate to rough sea conditions, with waves reaching up to seven feet. A Small Craft Caution remains in effect due to occasional gusty winds and locally rough seas near heavy showers and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, an Excessive Rainfall Warning is in place for the next 24 hours. The Met Service warns that heavy rainfall could lead to localized flooding, especially in low-lying and flood-prone areas. Residents are urged to closely monitor weather reports and stay updated through official channels, including the National Hydrological Service for flood advisories.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, forecasters expect cloudy spells with a few outbreaks of showers, thunderstorms, and rain to persist across the country.
