Minister Thea Garcia-Ramirez Named Belize’s Global Ambassador for Inclusion
The Ministry of Human Development, Family Support and Gender Affairs has announced that Minister Thea Garcia-Ramirez has been nominated as Belize’s Global Ambassador to the Global Coalition for Inclusion.
The nomination was formally conveyed by Marshall Nuñez, Vice Chair of Special Olympics Belize, during a courtesy visit to Minister Garcia-Ramirez. The recognition highlights her longstanding advocacy for inclusion, equality, and the empowerment of persons with disabilities across Belize.
Minister Garcia-Ramirez has played a pivotal role in advancing national policies that promote social inclusion and protect the rights of vulnerable populations. In accepting the nomination, she expressed gratitude to Special Olympics Belize and reaffirmed her ministry’s commitment to fostering a more inclusive and equitable society.
The Global Coalition for Inclusion brings together global leaders and advocates to promote inclusive practices in education, health, and community development for persons with intellectual disabilities.
