Decomposed Body Found in Old Capital

Police in Belize City are investigating the death of an unidentified man whose decomposing body was found this morning. 

According to initial reports, the body showed signs of violence. The grim discovery was made by a resident of the area who reported a strong odour near the basketball court in the Caesar Ridge area. 

Officers responded and found the body lying face-up in an open lot across the Wilton Cumberbatch Field.

The man was dressed in a white undershirt and black sports shorts. The scene was quickly secured, and investigators were called in to process the area.

Early findings suggest the victim may have been shot.
