Belize Scores 15 Medals at Central American Games
Belizean athletes are on their way back from Guatemala City with much desired hardware, fifteen medals from the 2025 Central American Games. According to the new President of the Belize Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association, Allan Sharp, the Belize delegation included one hundred and sixteen athletes and thirty-nine officials from twenty different disciplines. While our only gold medal is in the men partners category for Nine-Ball Billiards, Belize did make history in several sports, including basketball, volleyball and billiards. Today we spoke with Sharp for his take on our country’s performance.

“We’re very proud of our team and everybody who participated. We’re very proud of the results that we have received back. Fifteen medals is pretty good, very good. We had a hundred and sixteen athletes go. Two teams one medal and that’s not to include the billiards team. They have team as well and canoe has a two man so we did very well. Of course, basketball got bronze. Volleyball did bronze. Canoe had at least three medals. Billiards came true with five medals. We had two medals in athletics so I think we’re very proud of the result. Fifteen medals over four hundred thousand people is actually a better per capita than some of the other countries did with all their medals.”
