Farmer Shot in San Estevan; Police Investigate Motive
Tonight, a farmer in San Estevan, Orange Walk, is still recovering after being shot on his farm Thursday afternoon. Police are working to piece together what led to the attack, and so far, details remain scarce. Was this a targeted hit or something else? Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero has more on what investigators know at this point.

“On Thursday he was there shooting in San Estevan. Abraham Chan reported that he was doing farm work in the area when they heard a loud bang and he realized that he had been shot, he went for treatment and he’s no now in a stable condition. We detained several suspects, but no one has been charged at this time.”

“Was he the intended target?”

“We do not know. There were several persons doing work at the time when the bang was hurt and he received pellets wounds.”

“So there’s no motive?”

“Not at this time. We are following several leads, but we have not established a motive.”
