Blinded by Lights or Dodging Truth? Hit-and-Run Leaves One Dead

The driver involved turned himself in this morning, telling a tale that’s not adding up. He told investigators that the bright lights from an oncoming vehicle impaired his vision. He claims he heard an impact but saw nothing when he stopped to check. Now, police are piecing together the details to determine exactly what happened on that dark stretch of road, and whether this was truly an accident or something more.

“Police are investigating an apparent fatal hit and run incident that occurred sometime last night. This investigation commenced around ten o’clock today when the body of a male person who has yet to be identified was observed along the Big Creek Road in Independence Village. A male person has since come forward to share with police that he was travelling in that general vicinity and while doing so his vision was impaired due to the bright lights of an oncoming vehicle. He said that he heard something make impact with his vehicle but when he made checks he saw nothing. The investigation into this matter continues and as progress is made that information would be shared.”

“Yes certainly there are regulations that prohibit those and what the police department as well as the transport department have been doing is conducting a number of operations at night time to detect those vehicles levy the necessary charges where persons are found to be in violation.”
