Gunman Misses Target in Bold Daylight Shooting
A shooting on Friday afternoon at the corner of Dolphin and Gibnut streets has left police on high alert and residents shaken. The gunman managed to escape the scene, and remarkably, his intended target got away unharmed. Thanks to surveillance cameras in the area, investigators were able to recover a firearm believed to have been used in the attack. But while that’s a major lead, the suspect remains unidentified. Police continue to comb through footage and gather evidence, hoping to piece together what led to the brazen daylight shooting and who was behind it.

“On Friday seventh of November 2025, at approximately one thirty p.m. information was received from the Belize City Control Room of shoots being fired on the corner of Gibnut and Dolphin Street. As a result of this, CIB personnel from the precinct one police station visited the location where they observed several expended shells on the corner of Gibnut Street. So far what we have been able to ascertain is that an unidentified male person is said to have fired the shots in that location and retreated into Gibnut Street. Swift police work, which was aided by the technological resources in that area, led to the discovery of a nine millimeter pistol containing live rounds of nine-millimeter ammunition believed to have been use in that incident. This weapon will be forwarded to National Forensic and Science Service Laboratory for forensic examination.”
