The Young Women in Leadership program is bringing passionate young women from across Belize to learn, lead, and lift each other up as they embark on their journey to leadership.  The theme for this initiative is ‘Youth: Empowered, Connected, and Thriving for National Development’, emphasizing that when women are included, they contribute. Leader of the Opposition, Tracy Taegar-Panton shares her excitement to be participating in this powerful message.

“I am truly honored to be part of this initiative and to participate in today’s  initiative and to participate in today’s launch. It is a meaningful step forward in strengthening women’s participation in public life. And widening spaces for women. As I said before, we can lead and we must be heard. I approach this occasion from a place of deep personal reflection. Earlier this year, I was entrusted with the absolute privilege by my peers, my male colleagues, to serve as the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly. I mentioned this not as a celebration for one, but a celebration for the fifty-one percent of women who continue the work of nation building, working in our political organizations, nurturing our families, working in the trenches to ensure that the Belize we envision, the Belize we hope for, the Belize we want for our children, and grandchildren can reach her highest potential.”
