Regional Media Unite for “One Love Jamaica” Disaster Relief Mediathon

Caribbean broadcasters are joining forces this weekend for the “One Love Jamaica” Mediathon, a regional fundraising broadcast aimed at supporting Jamaica’s disaster recovery efforts. The live event airs on November 16th, 2025, from 2–6 p.m. Belize Time, and will be carried across the region, including right here in Belize on Greater Belize Media.

The mediathon will also be aired on UWI TV Global and participating Caribbean Broadcasting Union (CBU) member stations. Viewers are encouraged to donate, with all contributions routed through the Barbados Red Cross to assist with critical disaster relief and rebuilding efforts on the island.

Organisers say the event is about showing regional solidarity, noting, “Let’s show Jamaica the strength of Caribbean unity.”

The broadcast is supported by major media partners such as CBC TV 8, Starcom Network Inc., Barbados Today, and Nation News. Belizeans, along with the wider Caribbean, are invited to tune in and help uplift Jamaica under the spirit of “One Love.”
