Open Your Eyes Celebrates 17 Years of Frames
One of Belize’s most recognisable morning programmes is celebrating another major milestone. That’s right! Open Your Eyes is celebrating 17 long years of staating yuh mawning right!
The popular talk show first aired in 2008 and has grown into a staple of Belizean life, combining news, entertainment, and community stories in one energetic package every morning in the week on Greater Belize Media.
Last year in November, OYE celebrated its anniversary month in its upgraded state-of-the-art studio, with features like advanced audio systems, enhanced video quality and redesigned sets that reflect a more contemporary look.
So it’s been a year of creating new memories and connections in its new home.
This year’s anniversary carries the theme “17 Years of Frames.” It’s a 17-year time capsule of the moments, conversations and personalities that have shaped the show. The theme captures the diversity of Belize and the many voices that have come through the studio over nearly two decades.
As part of the celebration, 17 viewers also won anniversary prizes.
The current hosting team includes Sabreena Daly, who recently took over from long-time host Marleni Cuellar, alongside April Martinez, Paul Lopez, and Isani Cayetano. Together, they continue the show’s legacy of engaging and relatable content.
Behind the scenes, producer Viannie Reyes and her assistant Monilee Aspinall keep the daily broadcast running smoothly.
The way the show blends culture and news, interviews, and conversations into community issues, or simply makes mornings feel a little brighter, keeps it reaching Belizean homes every morning.
Whether it’s on air or through WhatsApp, email, and social media, audiences can ask questions, share events, or just share a birthday shoutout. Open Your Eyes is a shared morning experience, a family.
Join our family every morning and staat yuh mawnin right from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. on Greater Belize Media. Tune in on the show’s YouTube channel or follow them on social media, including Facebook, to be part of the morning conversation.
